But sweep me into the narrative now,
\nResisting no longer, Your will to allow,
\nNot mere words on ancient page,
\nBut present Word on present stage.<\/p>\n
Paradoxical love, with mercy\u2019s fury dripping,
\nHunt me with passion, with tenderness ripping,
\nInto my soul where cherished lies reside,
\nPiercing the darkness where in shame I hide.<\/p>\n
Capture my vision that strays to illusion,
\nRegard not as violent mercy\u2019s intrusion,
\nCease the knocking, break down the door,
\nI want You less even as I want you more.<\/p>\n
Enthrall my affections, brutalized by lust,
\nEnrapture my emotions, divinized by trust,
\nLure me from my self, me away from me,
\nSlave to Your heart, yet finally free.<\/p>\n
As the minutes unfold and the hours fly by,
\nAs the year makes me older and I grope and sigh,
\nYounger with innocence may I become with time,
\nThe fatal wound healing by Your grace sublime.<\/p>\n
Deeper, yet deeper in Your love to repose,
\nLesser and lesser Your will to oppose,
