When was the last time you cried because you realized the depth of God’s love for you? Do you remember?

I have to share with you a message our team recently received because of your generous support.

Let me explain first, though. In case you haven’t heard, one of the latest things we’ve been up to at Light Bearers is something we’re calling the Light Bearers Live Sessions. In our current world, digital content is king. So, we felt the need to create a global gospel community that gathers online for learning, connection, and prayer.

This comes in the form of a monthly Zoom gathering.

For the rest of the 2024 Live Sessions, we’re doing a series on Zoom called EDIFY: Shape Your Life for Good, in which we’re exploring how the gospel gives us the power to experience true and lasting change in our lives. In our first session, we explored four myths Christians tend to believe that keep them stuck and the truth that frees them. After, our team got this feedback from an attendee named Cassandra: “Last night I was in tears because I realized how harsh I can be on myself at times when I make mistakes compared to how God views me.

I really liked that comparison of the baby…not losing its place as a son or daughter of a mother, even if the baby makes mistakes as they grow. There was so much hope, mercy, and grace wrapped up in last night. We are not alone in our journey but have access to a Power that is bigger, stronger, and greater than ourselves.”

“Last night I was in tears because I realized how harsh I can be on myself at times when I make mistakes compared to how God views me.

We also received this from Dana:

“I needed to hear the segment on legalism from the first EDIFY session. I grew up in the ‘70s and was raised in a church where I learned to be afraid of God. I was afraid of making mistakes, and also, because of matters out of my control, I carried shame that I could not get rid of, no matter how ‘perfect’ I was.

Jesus was not the focus or the center of my childhood religious experience.  I was SO grateful to hear that true obedience, obedience born out of love for my Creator and Redeemer—my King—is the kind of obedience that is not legalism.”

I don’t know if you realize this, but you gave Cassandra and Dana a better understanding of who God is and how He sees them. It’s through your continued financial support that we were able to host this free online event, where 650 people from all over the world joined us to discover the liberating truth of the gospel.

I was afraid of making mistakes, and also, because of matters out of my control, I carried shame that I could not get rid of, no matter how ‘perfect’ I was.

In addition to our monthly Zoom webinars, we created a private Light Bearers Facebook group where anyone in our community can share prayer requests, discover the beauty of God’s character, and grow in connection with others.

I want to say thank you. In a world that is daily becoming more post-Christian, your support makes this work possible. You are actually taking the gospel right into someone’s living room. We are forever grateful to have you on our team.

Your continued financial support allows us to keep developing series like these and other similar types of content. To partner with us, donate at the link below.
