I need to tell you about an incredible way the Holy Spirit is working in Argentina.
A group of young people at a Seventh-day Adventist Christian church, San Miguel Centro, had something many young people today don’t: real friendships. Genuine ones. However, this group of youth craved something more: they wanted to go deeper in their walk with God.
Why?
Well, no matter how sophisticated your programs and social circle are, and no matter how big your following is on social media, the human heart craves a connection with its Maker. And as God is love and He is eternal, friendships formed around God’s love create a different type of connection that can’t be replicated through a shared love of pickleball, cooking, or anything else in this world.
We got to know each other more deeply — sharing struggles, pain, and longings we had never talked about before.
The generosity of people like you made that type of connection possible for this particular youth group. And the effects were incredible. Here’s the story, in the words of one of its leaders, Nick:
About two years ago, our youth and young adult group started reading one of Ty’s books, The Sonship of Christ…
At the time, our group of young people had known each other for years and built strong friendships. We had a solid social connection, but we weren’t really experiencing what it meant to live as a gospel-shaped community. And honestly, it’s hard to explain what this incredible book did to us.
Among us were lifelong Adventists and others who were brand new to the faith, all with different backgrounds, stories, and struggles. Yet the book placed us all on the same level and led us to a deeper understanding of the biblical narrative — and more importantly, to a meaningful and personal relationship with Jesus.
These individual experiences came together to form a powerful shared one. We became a community centered on seeking the attitude of Jesus. We got to know each other more deeply — sharing struggles, pain, and longings we had never talked about before. We found ourselves eager to bring the power of the gospel into our families, our friendships, and our church.
When we began, we were around 10 young people. Today, we’re nearly 30.
Inspired by a beautiful quote from Ellen White, we named our group GraceLab — a space where God could carry out experiments of grace in the lives of everyone we could reach with the gospel.
When we began, we were around 10 young people. Today, we’re nearly 30. God is bringing in young people who don’t have strong communities in their churches. Others are returning to Him after years away. And some are meeting Jesus for the first time, moving closer to baptism and a life filled with faith and purpose. Each of them carries a story worth telling.
And every one of those stories has the fingerprints of people like you on it.
How?
It’s through generous giving from donors that Light Bearers creates resources like The Sonship of Christ, The Heavenly Trio, Truth Link, and more. If you’d like to help us reach more young adults with the gospel through our resources and other gospel initiatives, would you consider partnering with us financially?
YES, I WANT TO IMPACT MORE LIVES WITH MY GIFT!
