Mirriam is a young woman in Zambia whose life has been transformed in a significant way because of the support of people like you. Her story is amazing.

She tried everything she could think of—clinic visits, hospital appointments, and even local witch doctors. But nothing worked

Mirriam had been suffering for years. Dizziness and excruciating headaches would strike her without warning, leaving her weak and scared. She tried everything she could think of—clinic visits, hospital appointments, and even local witch doctors. But nothing worked, and her family’s meager resources were stretched thin. Mirriam was desperate for healing, but she didn’t know where to find it.

One Friday evening, while walking through her village, Mirriam spotted a small Seventh-day Adventist church. She didn’t know much about Adventists, only that they attended church on Saturday. But that night, the church doors were open, and people were entering. Mirriam was desperate enough to try anything, so she walked inside, hoping the church could do something.

What happened next would change her life forever.

As soon as she entered the sanctuary, a sense of peace washed over her. The sickness that had plagued her began to fade. She sat down and listened as Jones, a Pioneer Bible Worker from Riverside Farm in Zambia, spoke about the salvation found in Jesus. He was finishing up a series of meetings he called a “week of prayer.” His words were filled with the good news that salvation isn’t something we earn—it’s a gift we receive through faith in Christ.

At the end of the service, Jones invited anyone with a problem to come forward for prayer. Mirriam was still feeling better, but she didn’t want the sickness to return. She had been dealing with her headaches for years, and they always came back. Could Jesus heal her?

Jones prayed for her. After the prayer, Mirriam felt compelled to ask if he would visit her home. “I missed the week of prayer. Can you come and share with me?” she asked. Jones agreed and handed her a set of our Truth Link Bible study guides, explaining that they would help her learn more about Jesus and His love.

That evening, Jones visited Mirriam’s home and they began studying the Bible together. The next day, Mirriam returned to the church and shared her testimony. She told the congregation how she had walked in sick and left healed—physically and spiritually. “It was my sickness that led me here,” she said, “but I did not expect to learn about Jesus like I never have before.”

She had been dealing with her headaches for years, and they always came back. Could Jesus heal her?

Mirriam continued studying with Jones, and after completing the Truth Link lessons, she made the decision to be baptized. Months later, she joyfully shared that from the moment Jones prayed for her, her dizziness and headaches had completely disappeared. She asked Jones, “Are you a prophet?”

He humbly replied, “No, it is God who healed you.”

Today, Mirriam is not only healed, but she’s leading others to Jesus. She uses Truth Link lessons to teach others about Christ and serves as the leader of her church’s youth group.

Like I said, her transformation is, in a significant sense, due to the financial support and prayers of people like you. When you give to Light Bearers, you’re placing life-changing literature into the hands of people like Mirriam, people searching for healing and hope.

If God is moving you to do so, I’d like to invite you to partner with us financially to help us reach more people like Mirriam.
